Tri County Community Network Enhancing Lives Through Community Programs

The Tri County Community Network (TCCN) continues to make a positive impact on children, families, and seniors in the Intermountain Area through its diverse programs and community initiatives. From family engagement activities to essential services for seniors, TCCN remains committed to fostering a thriving community.

Programs for Children and Families

The recent Parent Café on December 4th, in collaboration with Raising Shasta, welcomed seven parents and six children, providing a safe space for meaningful conversations and support. Additionally, Family Film Night brought together over 80 parents, children, and caregivers at Burney Elementary School for a screening of The Incredibles. Special thanks to Les Schwab for providing fresh popcorn for attendees.

The Bright Futures program continues to offer free and engaging activities for families with children aged 0-5, including story times and Tiny Tunes. These events are held in Round Mountain, Burney, Fall River, McArthur, and Big Valley, serving approximately 100 children every month. Want more information about programs for children 0-5? Contact Bright Futures Family Advocate Kiely Whitehead at kwhitehead@mayersmemorial.com.

Through the Warm Winter Clothing Program, 72 children from Round Mountain, Burney, McArthur, and Fall River received winter clothing of their choice. This initiative was made possible through a generous grant from the Community Foundation of the North State.

Programs for Seniors

TCCN recognizes the importance of social connection for seniors. The weekly Senior Sip n Social at Mt. Senior Apartments in Burney provides an inviting space for seniors to gather over hot coffee, good conversation, and a light breakfast. Additionally, 44 local seniors received Winter Gift Bags, containing blankets, slippers, tea, and teacups, along with a list of local resources for health, volunteering, and social events.

Intermountain Action Growth and Education (IMAGE)

TCCN is also re-establishing Intermountain Action Growth and Education (IMAGE), a coalition of community stakeholders working to improve the well-being of local residents. IMAGE is currently conducting a community needs survey to identify service gaps and areas of improvement. Coalition members include TCCN, Mt. Valley’s Healthcare, Circle of Friends, Shasta County Community Connectors, and the Fall River Joint Unified School District. To join IMAGE, contact TCCN executive director Marrisa Martin at mmartin@mayersmemorial.com.

TCCN remains dedicated to strengthening the community through meaningful programs and collaborations. For more information or to get involved, please contact Tri County Community Network at 530-335-5511 ext. 1375.
